Health Watch - Foods For Effective Working Of The Heart

The human heart is the powerhouse of the entire body system. The working of the heart could be compared to the rhythmically opening and tightly closing of hand once in a second. After a few minutes, it is possible that one begins to be uncomfortable and it will not be long before the exercise if given up. The heart muscle performs same exercise, similar to the opening and closing of the hand, but does it unceasingly, without stopping, from birth to death, as long as it is well maintained.
The capacity of the myocrdium, the muscle that forms the heart, to work unceasingly and without rest, is one of the more surprising facts of animal as well as human physiology. However, the heart does not rest in reality; it does so in brief periods, normally during the beats. During some tenths of a second, the myocardium releases and receives blood nutrients by means of the coronary arteries. In order for the heart to function faithfully and constantly, it requires:-
*Permanent blood supply through the coronary arteries. Anything that obstructs the passage of blood through these vital arteries, provokes a heart attack and possible a heart cardiac arrest. Arteriosclosis, a condition due to the deposit of cholesterol, is the most common cause of blockage of the coronary arteries. *Sufficient oxygen and nutrients, particularly fatty acids, glucose, and vitamin B. All these nutrient must reach the heart capacity with blood circulating through the coronary arteries.
A healthy diet researched upon by American Heart Association to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease include:
*Less consumption of dietary source of saturated fats and cholesterol, such as beef, pork (red meat) eggs, butter, cheese, ice cream and margarine
*Instead, replace these animal based saturated fats (butter, bacon, ice cream, eggs etc) with poly-saturated vegetable oils such as sunflower soy, grape seed, or wheat germ oil.
*Substituting olive oil for animal fat is also effective in preventing cardiovascular disease.
In addition, to have a well maintain healthy heart;
*Eat at least one fresh vegetable salad a day dressed with olive oil or seed but not salad cream
*Eat a minimum of two or three portions of legumes a week.
*Eat whole grain bread and pasta instead of white bread and refined pasta.
*Reduce sugar and salt intake
*Avoid tobacco and coffee
*Perform regular exercise
*Eat at least five servings of fruits daily.
Sundry Food Venture Products “diet meals and diet juices” provide for these requirements. These products have nine to fifteen servings of fruits and vegetables. They are produced with natural and fresh fruits and vegetables, with no addition of chemicals in them and they are meant to be taken daily to ensure that the essential nutrients needed by the heart are daily supplied. These nutrients (i.e vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fibre, enzymes) are not stored by the body but are daily supplied to the body through fresh foods.
A diet based on fruits, oil bearing nuts, vegetables, legumes and whole grains results for heart attach prevention. Fruits and vegetables must form the base of a heart healthy diet as numerous studies carried out around the world have demonstrated, particularly the one done at Forvie Site University at Cambridge (UK). All fruits and vegetables help prevent heart diseases. Other oil bearing nuts, legumes and whole grains are also heart healthy. Among all these, the cherimoya, grapes, bananas and walnuts stand out because of the preventive and healing powers. Grape juice exercises a significant medicinal effects on the heart and the circulatory system due to reason that:-
It impedes the deposit of cholesterol in the arteries (arteroscerosis).
Makes the blood more liquid, prevent clots
Dilates the coronary arteries.
Other foods items that promote good and healthy heart are walnut, onions, whole grain (whole wheat flour, brown bread) barley, lye, potato, peach, non alcoholic wines fresh fruits and vegetables juices, cashew and mango. The best that could be gotten from them is when they are raw and fresh. These foods are known to contain phytochemicals that help to dilate the blood vessels, thin the blood and improves blood circulation. They also help to remove clots from the blood. They are rich in chemicals like potassium, antioxidants, vitamins and magnesium which help to neutralize the harmful effects of free radical in the arteries.
But cautions should be taken against large intake of alcoholic beverages, (saturated fats cheese, butter, margarine, red meat, salt, sugar, eggs, coffee etc). They are the ones that contain most risk factors for sudden on set.
