Slain Former Escort For Gov. Akpabio Buried

The family of Mr. Ekpedeme Nyoho may not forget in a hurry the gruesome death of their son who was allegedly gunned down last Thursday at about 9.45pm. The atmosphere was charged and tears flowed freely as the remains of Ekpedeme Nyoho arrived his home town, Afaha Offiong, yesterday for burial. The family members rained curses on whoever might have masterminded the dastardly act which they say has thrown the family into great wail.
Mr. Nyoho was said to have returned home in his BMW car last Thursday night about 9.45pm when assassin numbering about four opened fire on him and killed him. The deceased who resides behind Jacky Jay Engineering Company along Idoro Road, Uyo, is said to have been a motorcycle escort for Governor Godswill Akpabio during his campaign tour. An eye witness account has it that the gunmen were using machine gun as the two shots they fired threw the entire neighbourhood into confusion. He said no sooner had Mr. Nyoho alighted from his BMW car than he was greeted with two gun shots which brought him down stone dead.
Our reporter who visited the scene of the ugly development last Tuesday saw an atmosphere of fear and sorrow as a horde of sympathizes were seen in clusters apparently discussing the development.
As at press time effort to contact the police public relations officer to know if any arrest has been made in connection with the murder of Mr. Ekpedeme Nyoho was not fruitful.
