Journalist in the state have been advised to always be objective and accurate while reporting and advertising political

issues so as to forestall war in the polity .

The chairman of publicity/strategic committee of positive change 2011 under the campaign team of senator John James Akpan Udoedehe, Obong Thomas O. Akpan gave the advice recently to newsmen in Uyo while reacting to an advertorial which was advertised by various local and private owned tabloids in the state.

Obong Thomas Akpan noted that in the occasion of media houses seeking for and obtaining adverts for their financial growth they are ridiculed and used by any groups in the state so as to encourage  falsehood on the Senator John James Akpanudedehe, hence the need for the media in the state to operate with the guideline of their ethics.

Obong Akpan made it clear to newsmen that from investigations by the committee the sponsor of the said advertorial which he termed as Ibibio youth conscience is socio-political organisation that does not exist in the state adding that the address of the organisation stipulated in the advert does not equally exist.

Describing the contents of the Advertorial of the Ibibio Youth Conscience as false and defamatory in its entirety, sponsored by sycophants  as well as disgruntled propagandists to ensure continuity of the Godswill Akpabio's Government the committee chairman resolved that the committee shall not hesitate  to demand compensation on further damages from media houses that may publish defamatory  advertorial or negative report against senator Udoedehe in the state.

He said for prove authenticity the Ibibio youth conscience should come out open with facts to substantiate their allegations, either through documents, photographs or video clips.

In a recent development, the former minister of state the federal capital territory senator John James Udoedehe recently declared that only God can stop him from emerging as the next executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

The former minister of state said he is coming to effect the positive change in the governance of the state particularly in the area of transparency and accountability.

Senator Udoedehe said his government if voted into office will focus on employment and security of lives and properties.
