As the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recorded total victory in seven out of eight federal constituencies in Akwa Ibom state and two senatorial districts that participated in the just concluded National Assembly polls in the state, the senior Special Assistant  to Governor's Akpabio and secretary FGPC, Barr Effiong Abia has assured the PDP of total victory in Ewang ward 1, 11 and entire Mob local government area in the remaining elections.
Speaking to newsmen during the last election at Eyefai village hall, his voting unit, Barr. Abia disclosed that before the national assembly elections, his people were adequately sensitized and mobilized by him to vote for PDP candidates, stressing that nothing will make them derail from that arrangement.
According to him “the large turnout of voters in my unit and other units in Mbo that I have monitored is informed by the massive sensitization and mobilization of people I carried out pervious months. My people are happy with the PDP led government and they want to sustain good governance they have enjoyed over the years in the state”. He posited.
The Oron frontline politician who also attributed the impressive turn out of the electorate during the elections to the level of acceptability of the present government by his people, stating that Election in Mbo was not only credible, free and fair, but was also very peaceful.
Barr. Abia used the opportunity to call on Oron sons and daughters across the five local government areas of Akwa Ibom to vote for Chief Godswill Akpabio and other PDP candidates for House of Assembly seats in April 19, 2011 elections to enable the governor deliver more dividends of democracy to the people as well as completing the Ibaka seaport project which will have more Oron indigenes as staff.
The FGPC secretary appealed to the all eligible voters in Akwa Ibom state to vote massively for president Jonathan and Governor Akapbio, explaining that the duo have performed well in office and their projects speak volume.
For avoidance of doubt, he listed the stability of price of petrol throughout the country under the leadership of president Jonathan as one of the reasons he should be allowed to so for full tenure, adding that under Jonathan, Nigeria will surely change for the better.
Another strong reason advanced to buttress his stand was the fact that it was first time Niger Delta region, the goose that lays the golden egg, was allowed to occupy such exalted position in Nigerian polity.
While stressing that a vote for governor Akpabio was a vote for uncommon transformation in Akwa Ibom, Barr. Abia advised a few persons who are yet to embrace PDP to hurry up and join the moving train lest they would be left behind at the mercy of bad weather.
