If Bassey Ewa, Mbo local government area born  professor resident in the United States of America eventually scales through Senate screening and is sworn-in as minister to fill Akwa Ibom State quota it will be a big shocker for political analysts and watchers.
The mention of the name of this Professor was not done by politicians throughout the period of the general elections and after it was won and lost.
Up till last weekend names which have made headlines as some of the ministerial nominees for Akwa Ibom State included, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, obviously for his role in the emergence of the new government in the state. Nkanga, erstwhile Director-General of Godswill/Nsima Campaign Organization and his deputy, Arc. Otu Ita Toyo who was also touted to have been nominated for ministerial appointments were said to have been tipped for the juicy jobs because political pundits thought it will be a way of compensating them for the roles they played in the successful election of the Governor.
Other politicians who had played prominent roles in the present political dispensation and it was said that they may be compensated with ministerial appointments are immediate past Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Chief Nduese Essien, former Deputy Governor, Engr. Patrick Ekpotu and Senator Effiong Bob.
The question now is how did the American based Professor Bassey Ewa come so close to getting the job?
The Sensor investigations revealed that Professor Bassey Ewa became the preferred candidate when it was sniffed that President Goodluck Jonathan wants the Minister from Akwa Ibom State to run the Ministry of Science and Technology.
We learnt that at the point where the decision on who should be the Minister from Akwa Ibom State was to be taken, it was difficult not to go for Professor Bassey Ewa who our source said has a bias for the Sciences.

This is how the God of Oron Nation works. Is it a crime to be a minority tribe? Oro has been marginalised in Akwa Ibom so much such that we completely begin to have or feel that we are no more Akwa Ibom people. May God bless President Jonathan for destroying this evil plan by Akwa Ibom politicians.
