Council Boss Identifies Benefits of Thanking God |

Thanksgiving to God for a successful completion of the administration of the Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Pastor Chris Ekpo was the key point of this month's Solemn Assembly in the area.
The event which was held at the Council Hall, Ikot Edibon also featured prayers of thanksgiving to God for elevating Nsit Ubium sons to key positions in the state and Governor Akpabio's success at the April polls, his subsequent swearing into office as well as the Governor's success at the election petition tribunal. The Chairman of the Council, Pastor Chris Ekpo said it was necessary that they thank God because God has made them what they are, saying that whatever God has started in them shall be completed. Surveyor Ekpo noted that the day's event was designed to thank C;od for helping him succeeds in manning the affairs of the council for the past thirty six months and for the achievements his administration has recorded in changing the face of the council area. 'The Council Chairman advised the people to keep their paoe with God as he is the only one that can direct their steps and make them become successful in all they do, noting that if not for his total commitment to God's divine direction and continuous thanksgiving to God, Governor Akpabio would not have recorded the greatest achievements amongst comity of States. Surveyor Ekpo described August as the month of new beginning saying the people should not be in a hurry to achieve what they want, as achievements he said will only come at God's appointed time. He specifically thanked Governor Godswill Akpabio for putting up infrastructures for the people of the area and for appointing Nsit Ubium indigenes into key positions in government and called on Nsit Ubium people to support Governor in his avowed approach to transforming the state to an enviable status. - The Council Boss expressed believe that with the careful selection of the present group of vision-oriented State Executive Council members, the State would experience more harvest of evenly distributed infrastructural projects for Akwa Ibom people. , Pastor Ekpo also commended the Governor for presenting mobile lawn mower to ensure the environmental sanitation of the area and used the occasion to distribute the items to some designated schools in Ubium North, Ubium South and Nsit. In his sermon, the Assistant Pastor of Living Faith Church, Eket, Pastor Saviour Divine, urged the people to always thank God for all he does for them saying God deserves their thanksgiving. The man of God stressed that one of the principles that generates and sustains prosperity and protection among believers hinge on sincere thanksgiving to God no matter the situation. He admonished the ministers of God not to be afraid to preach and teach their members about the importance of thanksgiving since failing to sensitize them would mean blocking God's prosperity and protection against them. Pastor Divine who spoke on the mystery of appreciation referred to Paul and Silas in the Bible who were in prison but had to sing praises to God and the shackles of prison were broken. The man of God who drew his text from Ephesians chapter five verse twenty said thanksgiving was a demonstration of faith, saying the more they were grateful to God, the more their destiny became colourful. He urged the people to shun complaint and murmuring but be addicted to thanking God as this was the only sure way to attract breakthrough in their businesses and whatever they do as in the case of the five loaves of bread and two fishes in the Bible. The event equally featured praise worship, choir renditions and congregational prayers for the success of Governor Akpabio's second 'term in office and other elected and appointed indigenes of Nsit Ubium.
