The annual thanksgiving service of Trinity Group of Companies which takes place on the first working day in the new year was held yesterday at Trinity House, Uyo, with a charge by the Chairman, Obongunwana (Arc) Ubokutom Nyah
for staff to be more committed to the company's core values of excellence, innovation and team work. Arc Nyah who observed that because the management of the Group and staff come together yearly to thank God, the company enjoys divine support and as a result has made outstanding progress. Speaking further on the company's value of excellence, Arc. Nyah told staff that the vision of Trinity Group is to make each of the subsidiaries highly competitive in the global market place. This expectation he said poses the challenge of being innovative on all workers of the company. Teamwork according to him is one of the live-wire of any organization and because Trinity Group targets out-living its promoters, staff must invest their energies on this value. He enjoined staff to key into management's plan to grow the company for the purpose of creating more employment opportunities for Akwa Ibom people saying the group incorporated in 2011 with a staff strength of 4 persons, now has 160 people in its employ. The entrepreneurial spirit, Arc. Nyah insisted would have to be propagated in Akwa Ibom to create more jobs and reduce total dependence on political patronage by Akwa Ibom youths who presently see politics as the only source of livelihood. The Chairman also tasked staff to serve God better in 2012 as this will help them imbibe the virtues of honesty, discipline, hardwork and dedication, necessary for their personal development and that of the company. On staff welfare, he announced plans to increase staff salaries and to continue the contributory pension scheme. Speaking at the event, The Senior Pastor, the Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) Uyo, pastor Joshua Felix admonished management and staff to depend on God to accomplish the Group's vision adding that only God's help can favour Trinity Group achieve the core value of excellence, innovation and team work. Reading from the Bible book of Daniel 11:32, he urged staff to learn from the example of Daniel's commitment to God which earned him unusual wisdom, so that in 2012, staff of the company would be in a position to resolve any challenge that arises in the course of their work. He stated that for Trinity Group to remain relevant in all generations, then team work should be emphasized, so that there will be successors in every line of the business. He thanked members of staff for committing themselves to the task of growing the Trinity Group into a world class company enjoining them to work as a team always. Present at the event were the Director, Public Affairs, Trinity Group, Mrs. Victoria Ubokutom Nyah, Director at prudential Cooperative Microfinance Bank, Deacon Nelson Aghogu, Arc. Abimbola Oke and other heads of subsidiaries. In a vote of thanks the Group's Managing Director, Mr. Nicholas Luke thanked the Chairman of the Group for approving the annual thanksgiving service which brings all the staff together to worship and thank God. He also appreciated Pastor Felix for highlighting the need for managers to develop their subordinates in order for the company to have a succession plan advising the managers to train their subordinates in order for the company to have a succession plan.
